Background
Right Choices is a new Community Group which has been set up on the 18th July 2005, to provide community based activities, social events, hobbies and excursions for members of the community with learning difficulties, disabilities and mental health problems in the North West of Leeds.
Please be advised that the minimum age for members to join is 18 years old.

Right Choices Staff are all Volunteers at present, which currently consists of Volunteers,   Project Founder, Community Project Leader, Management Committee and a Steering Group. We are hoping in the near future that members of Right Choices will be part of the Steering Group.

Business Ethic
Most of us strive for a happy successful career as business professionals, however find at times this is not attainable due to either working conditions, politics, personal business relationships or simply a lack of clarity purpose and direction.
It is my personal view that at the time some of these experiences (that we all may have encountered at some time) may be viewed as nonsense, or unrealistic and simply not bearable!

However I believe these experiences can help to clarify your own work ethic and purpose. I also believe that everyone deserves an opportunity, to be heard, and to be understood fully within the work place, and should have no fear or trepidation of being heard or making their views known, that is providing any comments are of a forward constructive nature.
Teamwork is to be encouraged; ideas are to be nurtured, and those good ideas that are set into practice, and are to be rewarded.
I also believe it is very important and crucial practice, to work within a structured environment. What is meant by this is that procedures and systems are in place to both support business, and the working environment.
"Work hard, and to the best of your ability, be professional and have fun”

Vision
We are hoping to develop the Right Choices Organisation by having other community group branches in other cities, and information centres where all people can access a variety of training, employment and personal development opportunities. We want to share our experience and expertise with other organisations and people to enable a better community - nation wide and services allied to this.

Mission
Right Choices really would like to make a difference to our society in giving opportunities, and empowerment for self development to access services available to individuals personal needs. We would also like to provide outlets to invoke our determination and commitment to this enterprise.

Aims
To empower learning disabled people to lead a full and active life via social and recreational activitites and to provide welfare rights and responsability with support and encouragement from   volunteers, founder and Management Committee.

To work alongside all communities to create an open vision to learning disabled people and people with mental health issues for those wanting to access leisure, educational, self development and employment opportunties.

To provide opportunities for our members and the general public to gain awareness to acknowledge their own personal choice which can make a contribution to our community.

To support our members to gain the independence for themselves and to make decisions about their project through steering group and management committee meetings
